02Start with the decision
Pro 600 Quick Steam Plus in one honest frame
The Profitec Pro 600 Quick Steam Plus is a reservoir-fed, vibration-pump E61 dual boiler with a 0.75 L stainless brew boiler, 1.0 L stainless steam boiler, independent PID control, automatic shot timer, two pressure gauges, adjustable expansion valve, spring-loaded joystick valves and a switchable steam boiler. The Product schema and scores refer to the final North American Quick Steam or Whole Latte Love Quick Steam Plus revision. That version has spring-loaded joystick valves and the later Fast Heat Up behavior. Earlier Pro 600 machines with rotary knobs, earlier firmware or a different regional electrical package remain useful historical context but do not define this interface. Flow control, wood trim and magnetic side panels are options rather than base equipment. Pro 600 is discontinued in the checked US channel and has been replaced by RIDE. That identity matters because two machines can promise the same drink while asking for completely different work before and after it. The useful first question is not whether Pro 600 Quick Steam Plus can make coffee. It is whether its heating, preparation, milk, water, and cleaning sequence matches the way the household will actually use it. [source] [source] [source]
The strongest reason to choose it: It puts independent dual-boiler temperature control, an E61 group and useful manual feedback into a relatively compact traditional chassis. The main reason to pause: It is discontinued, reservoir-only and revision-sensitive, so condition and support evidence now matter as much as the original specification. Those two statements explain the rating more accurately than a long feature list. A high score in one dimension does not erase a compromise elsewhere, and the overall rating should be read with the six category scores rather than alone.
03The first week
Set up the whole station, not only the machine
Before power, match the seller description, serial information and rating plate to the final Quick Steam revision, then inspect the cabinet, group, joystick valves, reservoir, hoses, tray, cord and portafilters for transport or storage damage. Post-2023 machines may show FIL on first start; Clive instructs lifting the lever for 35 seconds to fill the group path before heating. Use appropriately soft, filtered water, leave top room for the tank and allow enough front depth for the portafilter. A used unit needs documented cleaning, water history, leak checks and qualified service when condition is uncertain. [source] [source]
04Rating deep dive
Espresso: control the variables the machine leaves to you
The 0.75 L brew boiler gives the PID a direct brew-water target rather than indirectly steering an HX steam boiler. The E61 group, pressure gauge, shot timer and adjustable expansion valve support a controlled manual recipe, but none replaces a capable grinder, scale, distribution and a stable warm state. Kaffeemacher measured an earlier unit and found it consistent after about 25 minutes plus a flush, while the later Clive guide separates about 12 minutes for boiler setpoints from another 10 minutes for group and portafilter. Those sources describe different revisions and protocols, not one guaranteed readiness time. [source] [source]
Espresso assessment
Espresso evidence translated into daily use
The Pro 600 Quick Steam Plus score is an editorial judgment from documented design, independent demonstrations, owner context, and the dated market position. It is not a bench result from Coffeedant.
| Signal | What the evidence says | Buying consequence |
|---|---|---|
| Brew architecture | 0.75 L dedicated brew boiler. | A dedicated PID-controlled brew boiler, E61 group, timer and pressure gauge support repeatable manual espresso. |
| Control available | Degree-level PID and timer. | The group still needs a stable warm state, and the machine neither grinds nor stops shots by weight or volume. |
| Recipe consequence | Manual lever stop with scale recommended. | Treat this as part of the Pro 600 Quick Steam Plus buying decision, not a promise of identical results in every kitchen. |
Evidence note: Unknowns stay unknown. Variations in coffee, water, milk, setup, firmware, regional package, wear, and technique can change the experience described by these sources.
05Rating deep dive
Milk: speed only matters when texture stays controllable
The 1.0 L steam boiler can run while the brew boiler maintains its own setpoint, and the final spring-loaded valve can be pulsed or locked open. Retailers marketed up to 2 bar and provided two- and four-hole tip options, but those claims do not establish one steaming time. Boiler setpoint, fill level, tip, pitcher volume, milk and technique all change pace. The smaller steam boiler suits home sequences, not an unlimited commercial queue. [source] [source]

The Pro 600 Quick Steam Plus score is an editorial judgment from documented design, independent demonstrations, owner context, and the dated market position. It is not a bench result from Coffeedant.
| Signal | What the evidence says | Buying consequence |
|---|---|---|
| Steam or milk system | Switchable 1.0 L steam boiler. | The separate 1.0 L steam boiler and quick joystick valve support simultaneous milk service. |
| Operator input | Spring-loaded joystick valve. | Steam pace depends on setpoint, tip, pitcher and technique, and the boiler is sized for home rather than commercial queues. |
| Queue consequence | Two- and four-hole tips listed. | Treat this as part of the Pro 600 Quick Steam Plus buying decision, not a promise of identical results in every kitchen. |

Workflow: count every touch from cold start to a clean counter
Lift the E61 lever to start extraction and the shot timer, then lower it manually at the target yield. Quick Steam valves reduce repeated knob turns, the steam boiler can be disabled, and two gauges show brew-pump and steam-boiler pressure. Fast Heat Up shortens the boiler phase but does not erase group thermal mass. Daily work still includes top filling, weighing, manual stopping, purging, wiping, emptying the tray and deciding when the full station is thermally ready. [source] [source]

| Signal | What the evidence says | Buying consequence |
|---|---|---|
| Cold-start routine | Fast Heat Up with separate soak advice. | Shot timing, independent setpoints and joystick valves make the manual routine clear and responsive. |
| Drink sequence | Top-fill 2.8 L tank. | Reservoir filling, manual stopping and E61 thermal soak keep it less immediate than newer volumetric machines. |
| Cleanup load | No volumetric stop. | Treat this as part of the Pro 600 Quick Steam Plus buying decision, not a promise of identical results in every kitchen. |

Build and service: judge access, support, and failure response
The record shows a roughly 53 lb steel machine with stainless boilers, E61 group, conventional vibration pump, adjustable expansion valve, removable reservoir and replaceable service parts. Clive links a 15-page parts diagram, though that 2018 document describes an earlier production state. It supports component identification, not current stock, inexpensive labor, compatibility across every serial number or expected lifespan. Boiler, electrical and pressure-system work belongs with a qualified technician. [source] [source]
Purge and wipe the steam wand after every milk use, rinse the hot-water outlet, empty the drip tray, refresh the reservoir and keep the shower screen, gasket, baskets and portafilters clean. Backflush with water routinely and use detergent only as directed. Prevent scale with suitable water and consult the matching manual and qualified service before descaling either boiler. Stop use for leaks, abnormal pressure, electrical faults, failed heat or burning smells.

Features: separate daily help from brochure decoration
Useful final-revision features include independent boiler setpoints, automatic shot timer, Fast Heat Up, ECO and cleaning reminders, steam-boiler disable, joystick valves, dual gauges, adjustable brew pressure and optional flow profiling. The machine does not provide a factory rotary pump, direct plumbing, volumetric stop, automatic milk, app or current-model lifecycle. Flow control is not included unless the exact unit has the separate hardware. [source] [source]

Value: compare complete ownership on the same date
Clive displayed $2,399 on September 24, 2026 while simultaneously stating that it no longer carries the discontinued Pro 600 and recommends RIDE. Whole Latte Love also marked Quick Steam Plus as an old listing. That makes $2,399 a historical reference, not a present new-stock recommendation. Compare any actual unit against RIDE, LELIT Bianca, Rancilio Silvia Pro X and ECM Synchronika on condition, warranty, pump and water supply, included options, service access and total station cost. Pro 600 Quick Steam Plus versus the closest practical choices
A useful comparison keeps architecture and buyer intent visible. A cheaper product may demand more technique, a faster product may expose fewer controls, and a traditional product may ask for more warmup and care. The rows below summarize the decision rather than pretending every specification carries equal weight.
| Machine | Price position | The quick decision |
|---|---|---|
| Profitec Pro 600 Quick Steam Plus | $2,399 historical US reference | Choose only after verifying a final-revision unit, condition, service and seller protection. |
| Profitec Pro 500 PID | $1,999 checked Sep 24 | Choose the current retailer-exclusive heat exchanger when lower cost and large milk capacity matter more than independent brew control. |
| LELIT Bianca PL162T | Higher-feature E61 dual-boiler class | Choose standard manual flow profiling, rotary pump and plumbing flexibility. |
| Profitec RIDE | Current successor class | Choose the current successor when new-model support and updated features matter more than used value. |
DetailsOpen the technical and workflow comparison
| Machine | Dimensions | Heating | Coffee setup | Milk workflow | Best fit |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Profitec Pro 600 Quick Steam Plus | 12.0 W × 17.63 D × 15.63 H in | 0.75 L brew plus 1.0 L steam boiler | 58 mm E61, dual PID and shot timer | Simultaneous joystick steam | Verified used compact E61 dual boiler |
| Profitec Pro 500 PID | 11.9 W × 17.6 D × 15.5 H in | 2.0 L PID-controlled HX boiler | 58 mm E61 with front timer | Simultaneous manual steam | Lower-cost traditional milk station |
| LELIT Bianca PL162T | Wider body with movable reservoir | Dual boiler with rotary pump | 58 mm E61 with flow paddle | Simultaneous manual steam | Profiling and plumbing flexibility |
| Profitec RIDE | Compact modern E61 dual-boiler body | Current dual-boiler platform | E61 with updated control system | Current dual-boiler steam workflow | Current-model Profitec buyer |
Compare current versus discontinued status first, then boiler and group warm-up, pump, plumbing, profiling, shot stop, tank access, service evidence, warranty and delivered accessories. Optional flow control does not make every Pro 600 equivalent to Bianca, and a historical listing is not proof of current availability.
11Owner evidence in proportion
What owner discussions add, and what they cannot prove
Owners repeatedly praise independent temperature control, steam capacity, sturdy construction and the lack of an urgent upgrade path. Recurring cautions include vibration-pump sound, top-filling, manual shot stopping, E61 warm-up and whether optional flow control is worthwhile. Discussions also mix rotary-valve, Quick Steam and post-2023 machines. Those patterns identify inspection and fit questions without establishing a defect rate.
Forum accounts are self-selected and combine different revisions, countries, water, grinders, settings, accessories and maintenance histories. A happy long-term owner cannot guarantee another unit, and a fault report rarely provides a denominator or verified cause. Retailer testing is commercially interested. Kaffeemacher tested an earlier machine that did not include the later Fast Heat Up behavior, so its thermal data is not transferred without that boundary.

Pro 600 Quick Steam Plus FAQ
Is the Profitec Pro 600 discontinued?
Yes in the checked US specialist channel. Clive states that it no longer carries the Pro 600 and recommends RIDE as its successor. Whole Latte Love labels Quick Steam Plus an old product listing.
Which Pro 600 revision is reviewed?
The score applies to the final North American Quick Steam or Quick Steam Plus revision with spring-loaded joystick valves, front PID and post-2023 Fast Heat Up behavior. Older rotary-valve units differ.
How long does Pro 600 take to heat?
Clive says later boilers reach example setpoints in about 12 minutes and recommends another 10 minutes for group and portafilter. Kaffeemacher measured about 25 minutes plus a flush on an earlier unit. Coffeedant did not measure either revision.
Does Pro 600 have two boilers?
Yes. It has a 0.75 L brew boiler and 1.0 L steam boiler with independent PID control. The steam boiler can be disabled for espresso-only operation.
Is flow control included?
Not as a base feature. Some retailer configurations added a flow-control kit, wood accents or both. Inspect the group and invoice before pricing an individual unit.
Can Pro 600 connect to a water line?
No. The reviewed model is reservoir-fed and uses a vibration pump. Choose a rotary-pump machine designed for plumbing if a direct connection is essential.
What is Quick Steam Plus?
Whole Latte Love used that name for its final version with spring-loaded steam and hot-water joystick valves. The valves can be pulsed or held open; the label should not be applied to older rotary-knob units.
What should I check on a used Pro 600?
Confirm revision, voltage, serial, service records, water history, leaks, boiler fill and heat, pump sound, pressure behavior, joystick seals, E61 movement, PID functions, accessories and seller return protection.

The buying decision
Choose Pro 600 only when the exact discontinued unit earns the risk
The final Profitec Pro 600 remains a strong manual espresso design. Independent brew and steam boilers, direct PID control, an E61 group, shot timer, gauges and quick valves create a clear, capable home workflow.
Its current limitation is no longer only technical. The machine is discontinued, current US listings are retired, Fast Heat Up and valve details vary by revision, and reservoir plus vibration-pump architecture excludes plumbing and rotary-pump benefits.
Buy a verified unit when condition, service history, price and seller protection make sense. Start with RIDE for a current Profitec, Bianca for built-in profiling and plumbing, Silvia Pro X for compact current support, or Synchronika for a larger rotary-pump E61 system.
